New Fabric Collection and New Patterns

Posted on February 11, 2025February 11, 2025 by Jane Hauprich

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying their winter so far!! Today we are expecting another snow storm. The older I get, the more I am wishing I was somewhere warm and sunny!!!

Over the course of this month, I will be introducing four new patterns to you. I will be introducing them through three blog posts, as they coincide with new Island Batik collections that I had the privilege of designing for.

Today, will be all about the “Joyous Fabric Collection” by Jerry Khiev. This fabric collection will be in shops this month!!

I designed two quilts for this collection.

The first one is called Flying Home. This is a pretty easy quilt to put together and measures approximately 56″ x 56″ when finished.

The next quilt is called One Direction. This one is definitely beginner friendly and is fairly quick to put together!! This one will measure 55″ x 65″.

A quick note about the flying geese blocks in these two quilts. I highly recommend the Deb Tucker Studio 180 Wing Clipper ruler. It makes flying geese blocks perfect every single time!!!

Both of these quilt patterns are available for shipping and also as a PDF download on my Store page. My Etsy shop also has the PDF downloads available.

I also wanted to share a picture of the One Direction quilt that my friend/pattern tester made. I love the colors that MaryGin chose!!! And I am always amazed at her pieced backings!!!

I also made this quilt out of Island Batik solids and left the border off for a fun version of this quilt.

I hope that you enjoyed seeing the new patterns. Watch for two more patterns to come later this month, and then yet another one in May.

That being said, in the fabric industry, we are always working pretty far ahead of when the fabric is actually available to shops. I have already designed and made quilts for fabric that won’t be released until December 2025/January 2026. I can’t wait to share about all of that. Unfortunately, that will have to wait until later this year. Let’s just say that I am super excited about one specific fabric line!!

I have had a lot of people purchase my Swim Turtle Swim pattern (thank you!!) and just wanted you to know that I plan on having more patterns like that one coming out later this year!! This pattern is also available on my Shop page.

Happy Quilting Everyone!!!
