It is hard to believe that it is already the end of October. I am not sure about you, but this year is just flying by for me!!!
A couple of fun things from this month…….
I taught a Hands On Free Motion Feathers Class at Spring Water Designs. I had a great group of students and everyone did a wonderful job learning feathers!!!!
I also had the opportunity to do Virtual Lectures to two different guilds this month. It is always fun chatting with other quilters from all over the USA!!
This month, was all about custom quilting.
My customer, Connie, sent me a gorgeous quilt top that was on my schedule to be custom quilted. She also sent another quilt top that she had hoped to have custom quilted but I had told her that I didn’t have time to do that, so we agreed on an edge to edge design. Well that was the plan anyway.
I opened up the package and took the edge to edge quilt out of the box and right away knew that an edge to edge was not the way to go, so I did something I have never done before, and I called the customer and asked her if we couldn’t do custom on it anyway. And she said she would love that!!
Here are all the pics of that quilt top. This pattern is called Beautiful Day by Jacqueline de Jonge of BeColourful. The first pic is the entire quilt top and the following are all the close ups!!

Next up, I went ahead and quilted the originally scheduled October quilt, which is called Blooming Joy. This was a Block Of The Month from Piece O’ Cake/Becky Goldsmith. Here is the entire quilt, and below that are all the close ups!!

Both of those quilts just were amazing and I am glad to say they are back home with their maker!!!!
I have a couple of more custom quilts this year, which I hope to share in November and December. I do post progress pics on my Facebook page and my Instagram, so if you want to follow along, I would be happy to have you!!
I probably won’t do another post until after Thanksgiving, so I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Quilting!!!

Both quilts are absolutely stunning!!
Jane, lovely as always! I’m so glad you decided to do custom on the first Quilt because it is absolutely magnificent. I don’t think edge to edge would have done it justice.
