As we are in the midst of Fall and the temperature is dropping, I have been reflecting on this year and all I can think of is how quickly this year has gone by and what a whirlwind of activity it has been!!!
Teaching this year has been a blast and I have had the best students!!! Handi Quilter has been an awesome adventure and I am loving teaching with them and meeting so many new people throughout the country!!
I was teaching at a Handi Quilter Event this past weekend and when I returned home, I had two surprises waiting for me in the mail!!! I have been working on two new rulers for the past few months and I received my first shipment of them this weekend!!
I designed these rulers for several reasons:
- I like the way smaller rulers fit into my hand.
- I like the way that smaller rulers are much easier for me to manage when I quilt.
- I like to offer smaller rulers for those people that are using their domestic machines with a free motion ruler foot. If you haven’t tried this before, it is a lot of fun!!!
Here are the new rulers and I am so excited about them!!!
The measurements of these rulers:
Curvy Small: 5 1/4″ x 2″ x 1/4″
Curvy Medium: 7″ x 2 1/2″ x 1/4″
I have also updated my Curvy Straight Ruler with some registration lines. This ruler is great for a straight edge as your hand fits very nicely on the curved side, and you can also use the curved side to stitch curves or use the entire curvy side to create a spine of a feather!!
I hope to have video tutorials up on my website within the next few days!!
And of course, I still have my Curvy Applique ruler available. This ruler is great for guiding your hopping foot around applique.
Another new item I will be offering, is my pre-printed whole cloths on black background. The white marking will wash away once you have done the stitching on them that you desire to do. This is a wonderful way to practice your free motion skills and on this one in particular….your feathering skills. I hope to have one quilted soon to show what it will look like on black fabric!!
To order any of these items, just hop on over to my store page.
I already have several shows booked for next year where I will be teaching. MQX is going to be opening their registration on November 15, and those classes tend to fill very quickly!!
Birds of a Feather has open registration right now. This is also another fabulous quilting/educational show. To find out more, click here!
I am also teaching at Mid-Appalachian Quilters in July and at Quilting Elevated – Handi Quilter Academy in June.
Here are a couple of pictures of some of my own things I have been working on.
This is from a Debby Kratovil pattern, where I changed up the colorway a little.
This is a sample of fill designs for my classes.
Happy Quilting!!
