So, I was sitting here this morning thinking “where has the time gone”? I realized that I hadn’t written a blog post in quite awhile (my intentions are to write more frequently), and thought I could do a quick update on some recent events and ones coming up soon!!
A couple of weeks ago, I was an instructor at Handi Quilter Academy. If you have never been or heard of it, it is a fabulous event, where Handi Quilter owners (or even quilters just wanting to know more about the machine), come for three days of fabulous classes. Every two hours you are switching to a new class and as I assisted in several, along with teaching several, I saw some fabulous classes that I wish I had been able to take!!!!
Many people come to this event not knowing a soul, but end up going home with new friends and a desire to keep in touch with them and meet up again the following year!!
If this sounds fun to you, next years Academy is June 26-28, 2019.
At this point, MAQ (Mid-Appalachian Quilters Expo) is coming up very quickly. I am teaching three days of classes there, and again, they have a fabulous line up of instructors!! I am busy prepping student kits for these classes and am so looking forward to meeting my students!!
I have been teaching quite a few classes locally, which I am just loving!!! If you want to see where and what I am teaching locally, just check out my Events page.
Here are a couple of recent finishes that were fun to do!! I have been in a bit of a quilting slump lately, so I decided I wanted to break that slump by quilting on this pre-printed panel by Sarah Thomas.
After I felt like I was ready to tackle some more quilts, I had the pleasure of quilting this fun quilt for quilt designer, Debby Kratovil.
And then I quilted this lovely quilt for my neighbor/friend.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!!
Happy Quilting!!!
I find pre-printed panels to be just the ‘thing’ to boost my lacking mojo, too! This past year has been one of pulling back from client quilts and adding to my own quiltings (for some upcoming trunk shows/talks)…also, our youngest grandson will be married next month and there are a myriad of tasks to be completed for that (many alterations, etc). Where does the time go?? I think I know…………….
Doreen – I loved quilting those panels!! Just a way to have fun!! I have also been pulling back from client quilts. How fun that you are helping with your grandson’s wedding!!!
