I am loving this quilt, which was pieced by Ellen, and was from the book “Oh, Scrap!”, by Lissa Alexander. The pattern name is “Indian Blanket”. Do you see all of those half square triangles?? Oh my gosh!!!
This quilt is just gorgeous and I didn’t think it needed much in the way of quilting to make it shine even more, so I went for a simple continuous curve (orange peel) design.
I love it when the back shows so much texture too!!
I used Quilters Dream Wool Batting cause I wanted to give it some dimension, and it certainly worked!! I used Superior Threads So Fine 50 on this quilt also.
The next quilt is also made by Ellen, and is from the book, “Savor Each Stitch” by Carolyn Friedlander. The pattern is called “Facing East”. Isn’t this a fun quilt?!?!?!?! I love the use of the Kaffe Fassett fabric in this!!
For this one, I used Quilters Dream Cotton Select batting and I used Superior Threads So Fine 50.
I hope this helps to brighten your day as it did mine when I was quilting these!! I hope that you are all staying safe and well.
I wish you all a Happy Easter!!!!
Happy Quilting!!!
Wow, beautiful quilting on beautiful quilts, all I have is WOW!
Happy Easter to you, Jane! Thank you for sharing these beautiful quilts. I love all of the continuous curve quilting. It really accentuates the Indian Blanket nature of the quilt. I am a Kaffe fan, so Facing East for me is so special. Love the swirls in the centers of he suns. I purchased a ring with a swirl design from a Native American in Arizona about ten years ago, and he told me the swirl design means ‘balanced life’ in his culture. I try to place the design somewhere on every quilt I make as my wish for the recipient! Thanks for sharing Ellen’s quilts and your beautiful quilting!
Thank you for bringing them to life, Jane. I love both! Bindings on, waiting for hand stitching.
