I needed to make a mini quilt for the Rainbow Mini Swap Round 2 through Instagram. I searched for the perfect pattern for what I had in mind, and then I realized I had a pattern that would work perfectly, but I just needed to change up the color scheme.
This pattern is called Modern Vortex from Debby Kratovil. This pattern was great and worked wonderful with using her ruler that I purchased with the pattern. I actually had purchased red and white fabric for this pattern, which I still might make one day, but I ended up making this.
Now, because I changed up the colors for the pattern, I actually have more wedges in the reverse for another one, which I will make one day for myself.
I loved the binding, and here is the finished project.
I also recently did a vintage piece on my domestic sewing machine. Why would I do that when I have a longarm? Because I wanted to show my students who work solely on domestic machines, that this can happen!! It had been awhile since I had free-motioned like this on a project, but I have to say I really enjoyed the process!!
I don’t want to close out this post without giving you some pics of customer quilts that I have recently quilted!! I am so blessed to have such amazing customers who do such fantastic work!!
This next one is a paper pieced leaf that is a Judy Niemeyer pattern.
I wish everyone a great day!!
Happy Quilting!!
