It has definitely been a Summer of Fun Quilting!!! And it is so hard to believe that Summer is coming to an end!! It is already feeling cooler in the evenings. Pretty soon it will be jeans and sweatshirt time……and wrapping up in quilts time!!
We recently had the Maryland State Fair and I wanted to wish a big congratulations to the winners!! Unfortunately, I did not make it up to see them this year, but here are a few pictures that were taken by someone else.
I was thrilled with the ribbons I won, and was totally surprised to get them.
I have been busy quilting and trying to stay on schedule. Here is a recent quilt that was just finished. It is a New Age Block of the Month..
A friend of mine recently let me go through all of her vintage linens, so as a thank you, I made this for her from one of the linens that was in the bag. I love how these vintage pieces are able to be made into other pieces that can be used instead of being in a closet somewhere!!
For Handi Quilter, I have to be able to teach many classes, so I have been busy writing lesson plans and preparing student handouts and making samples for these classes. Here are a couple of the samples I have recently completed.
There has been a lot going on here. I have been working on a lot of teacher proposals and am happy to say that so far I have been asked to teach at: Birds of a Feather and MQX New Hampshire. I still have some more proposals to send and then I also have my Handi Quilter events. I am fortunate through them to be teaching at Original Sewing & Quilt Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois in October 2016, and have been assigned to teach at a show in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2017. I have to say, I am pretty excited about that!!!!
I am off tomorrow to work at AQS Chattanooga and you can find me in the Handi Quilter Booth there!! I will try to take some pictures and post when I get a chance, although they will most likely be posted on my Instagram account or my Facebook page sooner, so if you don’t already follow me there, please make sure you do. Happy Quilting!!
Congratulations on your ribbons. they are all amazing but I do love the Flying Geese Quilt. I’m sure your friend was thrilled with her vintage piece, it looks wonderful.
