Well, I can finally let the cat out of the bag and let you all know my exciting news!!!!
I recently started long arm quilting for MODA/United Notions. Woohoo!!!! This will mean that I will be quilting quilts for them as they get ready for Fall Market and Spring Market each year. I cannot even begin to express how honored and excited I am!!!
This is the first quilt I was given to quilt for them.
It was pieced by Carrie Nelson and was made of half rectangle triangles. The darker fabrics came from the table decorations at the MODA Banquet at Spring Market that was called “Prairie Prom”.
I had the pleasure of attending that Banquet so this quilt really has special meaning to me. The picture above is the decorations on our table.
I really wasn’t sure how I was going to quilt this until I got it on the frame and just started quilting. I knew that I wanted to incorporate feathers somehow, cause you all know they are one of my favorite things to quilt!!
I absolutely loved the labels on the back of the quilt and how Carrie made the back using extra blocks and then incorporated them into this lovely plaid backing. The labels were sewn right into the quilt and were printed using an Identi-pen, which is permanent. I have to admit, I have never tried this method before for labeling my quilts, but I think I am going to be trying this sometime soon.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the pictures of this quilt as much as I enjoyed quilting it!!!
Happy Quilting!!!!
You do Moda well!!!!! They are lucky to have you.
