For September, our Island Batik assignment was to make a bag with a ByAnnie.com bag pattern.
We chose the fabric and pattern earlier this year.
I chose the By Annie – Double Zip Gear Bag 2.0 and the Island Batik fabrics chosen were: Peacock Baja Bright and Rock Fuschia from the Peacock Plumes collection and Cherio Lemonade from the Blenders. Online these look great, but they are even better in person!!!!
I have to say, I have made several bags in the past, but the ByAnnie patterns are the best! Detailed directions, fabric labelling tags to print and use, detailed cutting directions, and videos to watch on the process!! You just can’t beat it!!!
Another thing I like about these patterns is that you go step by step through the process to make all the parts needed. This makes assembly pretty easy!!!
In the package we received, were all the components to make our bags……pattern, fabric, coordinating zippers, coordinating mesh, fold over elastic, and Soft & Stable to use as batting. The Soft & Stable makes the bag nice and sturdy.
And here is the finished bag. I think it will make a great travel accessory bag or a gear bag for some sewing supplies!!! As you can see…..it is ready for a trip!!!
The inside of the bag is great too, as it has some mesh pockets!!! I love pockets!!!!
I hope you enjoyed seeing this project as much as I did making it!!
All of these items were given to me to use for making this project by the following companies: Aurifil Thread, Island Batik, ByAnnie.com, Schmetz needles.
Looking for virtual classes?????
As a reminder……if you are looking for virtual free motion classes, I do have some scheduled to begin this Fall. Don’t miss an opportunity to take a 4-5 week class in the comfort of your own home!!!!
Happy Quilting!!!!
Lovely finish. Looks like a useful bag.
Beautiful bag! I love the yellow inside! Have a great day.
