Prisms Blog Hop

Today is my day on the Prisms Blog Hop!! This is the Prisms collection of Island Batik fabric and the Signature Collection by Kathy Engle for Designer, Claudia Porter of Create With Claudia. Isn’t this fabric just phenomenal!!! I fell in love with all of these bright colors!!!

In May, I had the opportunity to work with this fabric line as an Island Batik Ambassador. I received a half yard bundle of this fantastic fabric. Here is a picture of what I made for my May project. To see more about this project, hop on over to that blog post.

I had so much fun making this. The fabric just screamed summertime fun!!!

I thought I would make something different for the Prisms Blog Hop. Trying to figure out what to make wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I went through my ruler drawer (does anyone else have those…lol!!). I was looking for a ruler that I hadn’t used in awhile, and came up with the Pineapple Ruler by Gyleen Fitzgerald. And I even happened to have her book that went with the ruler!! Score!!!

I love making pineapple blocks and hadn’t used this ruler in some time. However, using it came back to me very quickly. Since I was working with leftover fabrics from my May project, I decided to keep this project on the smaller side and make a table topper or wall hanging!!

Here is a picture of part of my first block and I couldn’t have done it without my Oliso Iron!!

To see more on the entire process, you can watch a short video on the piecing and quilting here. I combined a computerized design with some free motion to get this quilted the way I thought would look the best!!

All in all, I had a blast making this table topper or wall hanging (I haven’t decided which it will end up as). This fabric is bright and vibrant and I am in love with it!! I still have some scraps left and am trying to figure out what I can make with them, as I want to make more!!!
