The June Island Batik project was to make a quilt using the Accuquilt BOB die that we were sent. I received the Arkansas Traveler die.
I had not used the BOB (block on board) dies before, and I have to say this was AMAZING!!!! All the pieces just went together so smoothly!!!
We also were asked to use something from our Go! Qube and I chose to use the four patch (die 2) and the square (die 1) from the 8″ Block Go! Qube.
I have to say cutting this quilt out went super fast using my Accuquilt!!!
The gorgeous Island Batik fabrics that I chose to use for this quilt……….
And here is the finished top. It finished at approximately 54″ square and will make a nice throw or lap quilt.
I then took some time to try to figure out how I was planning on quilting this. Here are some of my doodles.
And the funny part is……..here is what I actually quilted!! Once I got it on my quilting frame, and did all of my stitch in the ditch work first. I had totally changed my mind. Thank goodness we can allow ourselves to do that!!!
This was so much fun to make and to quilt!!! All of my free motion quilting was done on my Handi Quilter Amara. I used two layers of Hobbs cotton batting on this.
I had just the perfect colors of Aurifil thread for doing the faux piped binding on this quilt too!!!
And here is the full picture of the final quilt!
As to who I am giving this to…….I am still up in the air about that, but hope to decide soon!!!
Thanks to the sponsors of this project: Island Batik, Aurifil Thread, Accuquilt, Schmetz Needles and Hobbs Batting.

Jane, I love the design you chose, especially with all of the negative space for your lovely feathers! Isn’t it amazing how you can plan free motion designs for a project on paper and then totally modify them when the needle and thread meet the quilt? So great to be so flexible with your quilting designs! 💙😍💙
Hello Jane! I love the way you quilted this with the huge puffy feather! Beautiful quilt. Have a fabulous day.
You chose the perfect fabrics for making this quilt. And of course, your quilting is the best, as always. Fabulous finish, Jane!!!
I had never even heard of the Arkansas Traveler block before but I love it now…and your quilting….and your colors. WONDERFUL!
