It’s been awhile since I have posted, but I have been busy quilting as much as possible!!
I recently had the opportunity to quilt this beautiful quilt for Peggy (owner of Peggy’s Sewing Center). This pattern is called “A Prairie Gathering” and is by Pam Buda/Heartspun Quilts.
I first saw this quilt and immediately thought of feathers…….lots and lots of feathers!!!!! And you will see I did do feathers, but I also added some other designs too!!
We had decided to use Quilters Dream Wool Batting as that would show off the quilting texture well. I used Superior So Fine 50 Thread for the top and Wonderfil DecoBobs for the bobbin.
The next few photos are quilts that I recently quilted for my customer & friend, Ellen. She always makes such fun & bright quilts. The whale quilt was made for a young friend of Ellen’s as a special gift to her. Who wouldn’t want to receive a quilt like this!!!! Awesome!!
The Hedgehog quilt is being used as a shop sample for awhile and was a lot of fun to quilt. I had always wanted to try some Graffiti quilting and ended up doing that in the background of this wall hanging. I have to say it was a little out of my comfort level, but it was a lot of fun to do!!
Today is National Sewing Machine Day, so I sure hope that you all are finding time to sew!!!
Happy Quilting!!
Well, Peggy, you really now have 2 gorgeous quilts! Just reverse for a whole cloth quilt.
Love, love the whales and the hedgehog! Her name is Hazel and she might get teal eyelashes.
Thank you, Jane, for making our quilt tops come to life. Much appreciated!
Ellen – Thanks for making such great quilt tops for me to quilt!!! I can’t wait to see Hazel with her teal eyelashes!!
