For the month of April, our Island Batik Ambassador challenge was to make a Funky Friends Factory animal.
I chose to do Belinda Butterfly. What a cute butterfly!!! I had a hard time choosing fabrics for this, but these are what I finally decided on!
These patterns are so nicely written and the pieces all go together so well!!
I am typically not one to pin as I quilt, but with this it was definitely necessary!!
I chose to use some wool felt for the cheeks and some buttons I had on hand for the eyes. I think next time I may get a little more creative!!
I do love how it came out. I tried to find some flowers to take pictures with, since butterflies are typically around flowers, however, with all the rain we have had lately, it just didn’t happen. So Belinda Butterfly has settled into my little evergreen tree by my front door!!
I had fun making this. A couple of years ago, I made the dachshund, which was also fun!! I highly recommend these patterns by Funky Friends Factory.
I would like to thank Island Batik, Funky Friends Factory, Oliso Irons, Aurifil Thread, Hobbs Batting and Schmetz Needles for providing all that was needed to make this fun project!!
