This month, our project is to Create For A Cause!! The Island Batik Ambassadors were to make a quilt that would go to Sleep In Heavenly Peace and use a Deb Tucker Studio 180 tool that we were sent at the beginning of the year.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace believes that all children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. Across the US, too many boys and girls go without a bed – or even a pillow – to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, or even floors. This can affect their happiness and health. That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. A group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. And once they have a bed, it wouldn’t be complete without a quilt to keep them warm!!!
The tool that I had been given was the Studio 180 Wing Clipper. This is such a help when trimming up flying geese blocks.
I had a lot of Island Batik solids, and thought they would be great to make a fun and vibrant quilt for a child.
I decided to make my quilt bright and modern by using the largest flying geese units I could get from the Studio 180 Wing Clipper tool. The Quilter’s Magic Wand came in pretty handy also!!!
My Oliso iron worked great as always!!!
When you use The Wing Clipper tool to trim up these blocks, it really makes a difference!! I am loving all of the colors that I have chosen for this quilt!! It made a rainbow of trimmings!!!!
Schmetz needles were also used in this quilt.
Here is the quilt as I was designing it on my design wall.
I chose to use Hobbs batting to quilt this quilt. It was quilted using ProStitcher on my Handi Quilter Amara.
And here is the quilt!! I absolutely love it and think some child will also be so thrilled to have it!!
Do you like to make quilts for donation? I’d love to hear about that!!

If you have made it this far, thank you for reading!! I am going to be giving away an extra Deb Tucker Studio 180 Wing Clipper ruler!! I already had one, so I’m giving away the new one!!
