Sometimes I sit down to write on this blog and wonder if what I have to say or show is interesting or not, which is why I tend to not post too often.
Since it has been a little while since I have posted, I thought I would take that opportunity to show you some of the quilts that I have been working on both in my long-arm business and also my sewing life.
If you have read my blog before, you know that I am participating in a Instagram Mini Quilt Swap (everything is done and ready to be mailed, but I have to wait until the official ship date). Well, they tend to be quite addictive and I have found that I signed up for another one!! Yep…..I know….I really don’t have the time…..but they are fun!! And, I have actually passed up quite a few other swaps, although I still do like to follow what everyone is doing. Anyway, the swap I signed up for is the Alison Glass Mini swap. Alison Glass is a fabric/pattern designer and I had never heard of her nor had I used any of her fabric, so I thought this would be fun……plus it is a good opportunity to stock up on some more fabric!! 🙂
Here are the fabrics that I intend to use as they were listed as favorites of my swap partner:
I also have recently found another quilter/designer from Romania who has some of the coolest patterns. Her name is Geta Grama. She had a free pattern on her site that I am trying. I have done the first steps and this weekend hope to applique these down and then will eventually quilt this.
I also recently participated in Gyleen Fitzgerald’s Mystery Quilt on Facebook. It was five weeks of clues and in the end you ended up with a quilt. I stopped at the smaller size although you could make it larger. This was a fun quilt to make…..plus it used scraps!!!! Yahoo!!!! She has the pattern available on her website.
I made a small scrappy “I Spy” type quilt for a little boy that lives in Japan that we know and just sent that off to him today. I had fun with this and I am hoping he will like it too!! I think that we forget that sometimes simple quilts make some beautiful and fun quilts!!
Here are a couple of quilts I quilted recently for customers:
I have a couple of larger quilts coming up next so I will try to take a lot of pictures along the way.
I hope everyone is staying warm (only 29 days until the first day of Spring!) and finding time to sew!!
Happy Quilting!!
Your post are always interesting and I love seeing the quilts you are working on either for yourself or others. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Peggy – Thank you!!! Good to know that people are enjoying this!! See you at the Guild meeting!!
