A Family Treasure

Just a short post today to show you what I was up to for the past couple of weeks…..besides quilting that is!!

I recently had the honor of making a photo quilt for my sweet sister-in-law. This quilt will go with her as she goes to chemo, and will keep her family close to her when they can’t be with her in person.

With the help of her daughter, I was able to get some family photos and transfer them to fabric using Printed Treasures. I designed the quilt as I went along, knowing what fabric I was using and how I wanted to frame out the pictures. I used Quilter’s Dream wool batting to make this quilt soft and cuddly!!

This past weekend I was able to surprise her with this quilt and she just loved it!! I know that this will be such a comfort to her.

On Wednesday she took her quilt to chemo with her and apparently was the center of attention in the unit as everyone wanted to see the quilt.
