This is going to be a quick post to show a couple of quilts that I recently finished. The string quilt was started at a quilt retreat I attended in January. I needed something mindless to work on. Do you ever need a project that you don’t need to think too hard about??
It is finished, and I was able to piece a backing with some of the extras. The grays were from my stash, and the floral fabric is a fabric by Victoria Findlay Wolfe. And of course, I added a striped fabric for my binding, because I love striped bindings!!
The second quilt was a recent quilt along I did, called the Quarantine Quilt Along!! What a fun and quick quilt to make!! I used a fat quarter stack called Spritz Tonals from Connecting Threads, and the white fabric was a Kona white. And of course…..there is a striped binding!!
This quilt along was hosted by Gudrun Erla, who is a quilt pattern and fabric designer. Her website, GE Quilt Designs, has lots of great info, patterns, tutorials and products!!!
So, I do have several more quilts to post about, and I will try to get a post up every few days.
The State of Maryland is now under a “stay at home” order until at least April 30. I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time!!
Happy Quilting!!!
I know what you mean about ‘mindless’ quilts for retreats. I usually take things I don’t have to think about too much so I don’t make too many mistakes. Really missing retreats! 😢
