Hi Everyone!!
This will be my final post for 2022. I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and has a very Happy New Year.
First, let me tell each and every one of you how grateful I am for you subscribing to and reading my blog and following me on here and on social media. If you don’t follow me on social media, here are the links to get you there: Facebook or Instagram.
I do have a couple of updates to let you know about.
Surgery
First off, I am having to face rotator cuff surgery on December 27, due to a significant tear. My orthopedic doctor says I will not be able to quilt or piece for at least three months. I am not thrilled about that, but I do know that I am beginning this process knowing that the outcome will give me full range of motion and a lot less pain. I am not sure what I am going to do for three months, but time will tell.
If you are a customer that is waiting for me to quilt for you, please realize that I have you on my list and just as soon as I am able to get back up and running, I will be in touch. If you want to make sure that I have you on my list, please feel free to email me (stitchbystitchcustomquilting@gmail.com).
I have loaded a blank piece of fabric on my longarm, so that when I feel up to it (and when my doctor says it is ok), I can go up to my machine and practice and get a feel for when I may be able to get back to work.
Enough about that. I will try to post updates if possible. It is my dominant arm, so doing things will be somewhat of a challenge at first.
My Products/Store
I will continue to sell my products on my website. Due to rising supply costs, I have had to raise the price of my workbooks. The last time there was a rise in my supply costs, I didn’t pass that cost along, however, I cannot continue to do that anymore. To see my products, click here.
Virtual Lectures/Classes
I am currently booking dates for virtual lectures and/or classes with groups and guilds. I already have several booked for 2023 and even some in 2024. I hope to also offer some Live virtual classes a little later in the year. Click here to get info on lectures.
On-Demand Class
I have recently released a on-demand class. It is called Beyond the Basics in Free Motion Quilting. This is for someone that has at least a little experience with free motion and is looking to move forward in your journey. It also covers some Threads Needles and Tension and using stencils. The link to that class is here. Once purchased, this class will be yours for as long as you want it. This class is geared more towards domestic machine quilters, but can also be used by stationary and movable longarm quilters.
Etsy Store
For those of you that like Etsy, I am going to post the link to my store. I do sell some of my quilts there, so if that is something that you are looking for, you can go to my store here.
Island Batik Ambassador
My Island Batik Ambassador journey will come to an end in 2022. Due to my surgery, I cannot fulfill completing a project every month, so it was decided that I would take a year off and then reevaluate from there. My two year journey with Island Batik has been a wonderful adventure. The fabrics are beautiful, the company is amazing, and I enjoyed each and every project, even when it made me go “outside of my comfort zone”.
That about sums it all up!! I wish you all the best for 2023!!!
Happy Quilting!!
Here’s some pics of some of my 2022 finishes!!
Jane,
Thanks for sharing your journey of going out of your comfort zone, because it inspired me to do the same.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! And a Happy New Year!!
Mary
Sorry to hear of your upcoming surgery. Hope all goes well and you have a quick recovery.
Jane,
Best of luck with the upcoming surgery. I hope you have a very speedy recovery, and that the outcome is all that you hope for and more. We will be waiting for your post-recovery successes and new images. I know they will be every bit as beautiful and helpful as what you have done and those you have provided us with—so generously—in the past. Be well.
Hello Jane,
I hope you have a speedy recovery and best wishes for the New Year!

Beautiful finishes!!!
I will be praying for a successful surgery and rehabilitation. Recovering is a LOT of work, but totally worth it! (mine was done in 2002!)
Hopefully you will be able to dream of new quilts and read lots!
